"MCR Saved My Life!"

Do not put your your life into the hands of a rock n' roll band. I can't say you'll regret it, but I can't say that things won't work out either. They are just people. People who have responsibilities like the rest of us. But they have one more responsibility that half of us don't.

They have to take care of you. The fans.

Fans are dear to them. But they are not superhuman, they do not hold any superpowers that can help them with their mission. They are just human. This does not just apply to rock music either. Rap, country, opera... You name it.

Music is another art form. And art is a form of self-expression. Music can express how a person is feeling, their emotions, their love and their opinion. Some may agree to one's opinion while another may disagree completely. How does one keep it up? Well... Some can't. They are one hit wonders. Heard of them? Right Said Fred, t.A.t.U., etc. While some can keep it up till the day they die. Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley... You get me.

A band famous for changing lives, "saving" them. My Chemical Romance. My mother liked to blame music though for taking lives. Like Rap music and Heavy Metal. I would argue with her about it for hours. "If music can take lives, surely it can save them?" She would reply,

"Well... Maybe..."

What I didn't understand is that if music can be evil why couldn't it be good? I've learned though... One cannot blame music for taking a life or saving it. People make decisions for themselves. If one didn't kill himself, it was because he chose not to. If one guns down people in a restaurant, it was because they chose to.

"MCR SAVED MY LIFE" is a lot to put on someone. Especially the band itself. They feel proud they have made a difference and it keeps them going. But really... Does music have that power?

P.S. Mayonaise should start putting "p.s." in capitals.
